Shop Small Saturday

by Christina

If you’re here on our site, you probably fit into one or more of these categories:

  • You love exceptionally beautiful things
  • You are looking for a permanent, maintenance-free, engineered solution
  • You have an historic restoration
  • You have a difficult problem no one else can solve

This season, as you carefully make decisions as to the best solutions for your metal roofing and cladding project, please give us particular consideration.

The reason we excel at all those features (and so many more) listed above is that we are special ourselves. We’re run by real humans who are artisans and engineers, not some enormous corporation with marginally-trained staff with few answers and mass-produced, one-size-fits-all products. And though we produce the most sophisticated of systems and offer unparalleled industry knowledge we gladly share, underneath it all, we’re a small, family business.

When you make a purchase from us, it means the world. You are our world. We are grateful. You enable us to make the occasional trip to see much loved family oversees. You enable us to take care of our employees who have their dream job crafting their passion into beautiful things every day. You help us evangelize better work and building standards and make the planet more sustainable one shingle at a time.

Our company president represents the quintessential American dream. A hard worker from birth, he labored on his family’s ranch and bakery in Hungary since he was able to walk. He trained as a swimmer for the Olympics spending 8 hours a day or more at the pool or gym on top of school work and jobs.

He started metal roof training at 13 years old, and even at this age was making 4 times the money his mother brought in to help the family. After attending mandatory military participation at 18, he left with the equivalent of $8.00 in his pocket to go to Germany, the land of regulations, which had the best metal roof trade training in the world. He knew no one. He didn’t speak German.

Fast forward a few years, and he earned his Meisterbrief, the highest trades / engineering degree in the country. Akin to the cost of an Ivy League education here in the States, he paid for it all by driving a truck at night, surviving on only scant hours of sleep, and upon graduation, was entirely debt free.

This is all the more impressive when you factor in that Meisterbrief school is much like medical school where participants must put in residency hours. To top that off, the final comes with a 50% fail rate.

His German became indistinguishable from the most educated citizenry and over the years became considered among the most skilled and knowledgeable metal building envelope trades experts in the world.

It is hard to keep from continuously annotating our company’s history, but for the sake of brevity, in a nutshell, the bar was set. That’s our company culture. We are smart and we are very, very hard workers.

Now operating in the U.S., we serve a global clientele.

The call to shop small business this weekend holds weight for so many of us with specialties the world needs. Your business is accepted with heartfelt gratitude.

This holiday and throughout the coming years we hope clients like you will put thought into giving small companies like ours a chance to help you achieve all of your objectives while benefiting the life blood of our economy, the small business, at the same time.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Though we are small, we are mighty! Have an audacious project? We’re your team! Call us today to discuss how we can help provide anything you need for any metal building skin, no matter how large.
