The best roof for Colorado

by Christina

In Colorado, the weather is predictably unpredictable…especially in the winter. It can go from freezing out your 5K run with dangerous ice conditions in the morning to occasionally breaking 60 degrees in the afternoon. And when the snow comes, well, you’d better own a snow blower or make friends with a neighbor who does. And while we’re mentioning the other quirks, few places get pelted as much by hail.

Colorado

On top of all this, Coloradoans have a real sense of architectural style recognized and copied the world over. So how do you as a builder, designer or building owner in Colorado make everything work to achieve permanance in the building with all the environmental challenges combined with your authentic style sensibilities?

Have you checked out our Quadro shingles yet?

Style:
Our Quadro shingles are classic. They don’t rock the boat and overpower any of the building. Though versatile for many styles and applications, they find an ease and a genuineness on Rocky Mountain lodge-type homes and buildings.

Materials:
Have you seen some of the rustic finishes in PVDF for aluminum or galvalume choices? These are a great alternative to dangerous rusting techniques on steel. You get the look of rustic, but the peace of mind of a much more permanent material. Copper and zinc are perennial favorites, but don’t forget about stainless steel which is particularly ideal for the Colorado environment.

Hail:
When you’re located in a place with expected seasonal hail, you absolutely must have a roof system that will not fail. Let’s face it, you don’t often go up on your roof and what looks fine from the ground, could not necessarily be so. Water fill find a way. If it seeps into even the smallest breach, it has potential to cause huge damage. These types of infiltrations are hard to initially diagnose and will worsten over time. Just get a roof from the onset that will bypass any potential for damage. All our roofing systems are perfect for hail prone areas.

Snow:
The best insulation there is, is air. As snow is comprised almost wholly of air, it’s advisable to keep it on your roof as long as possible. You do that with snow abatement systems. Historically, it’s been difficult to impossible to find REAL snow guard fixes with a horizontal layout type panel. But we have them. The best in the world as a matter of fact!

Solar:
Few folks are as concerned about the environment as those in Colorado. If solar panels are on your list of must-haves, our Quadro shingles are compatible with the best solar holders the world has to offer. German-engineered just like our snow guards, you’ve finally found a roof solution fully compatible with all you need to keep your roof beautiful and working maintenance-free for a lifetime. And really, that’s the true definiton of sustainability.
